The Fanfare of a Flare
A beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback pressed her paws deep into the soft earth as she stepped proudly and deliberately. She held her head and tail high eyes keen and looking ahead. Was there any dogs around here to play? Her ears perked up, listening to the noises around her. She strained to hear the russtling and thudding of pawsteps on the ground approaching or the low bark of a welcome. She sat down and sighed, before dropping her front end to lie on her forelegs. She kept her eyes and ears open for a playmate but she soon tired. Where is every dog? she complained silently. The summer air breezed over her and she growled softly, she wasn't used to being alone, usually at least one dog was around to run with. She had expected there to be dogs here, and it was incredibly dissapointing that no one was. It was such a nice day, the birds were singing, the sky was blue and there was a pleasant whisper of wind.
