Puppy in the Pound

The nameless husky puppy stared ahead, watching all the humans walk by, ignoring her and picking out fancy, proud looking older dogs or the most cutest puppies, which this one probably wasn't one of them. She turned and crawled to the back of her cage, appreciating the warmth of the soft blanket beneath her. She lay down at the very back, and stared out continously in a neutral way, drinking and eating to her hearts content as she did.

Jacob was a young, twenty year old man, with a bloodhound named Rex. Rex was abit loney after his mate had gotten hit by a car, and Jacob knew that. So,h e went puppy shopping. Looking around, he spotted a tiny little Brlood hound puppy in a creat. He was about to take it, when he saw a small Husky female. He had to take her. He called a worker to take the husky out of the cage to meet her.

The pup watched carefully as she was carried out and put in a man's arms. She yelped quietly in a soft greeting, and shuffled forwards in his arms, closer to him and rose up onto her hind legs. Unsteady on her own, she pushed her front paws into his chest, and barked, tail wagging. With her head tilted, she licked her lips and looked up at the man.

Jacob laughed at the young puppy. He was taken to a room to get to know her getter. It was white, and small, but good enough for them. He set the puppy down and petted her again.

The husky barked again, her togue lolling out as she panted. She leapt up and licked Jacob's face affectionately, then lay down in his lap, facing him directly. She lowered her head to her paws and whimpered, as if pleading to him that he take her out of this place.

Jacob smiled at the small puppy. "I will, I promise." He said as if he could understand her. He gently placed her on the floor, and grabbed a treat from the counter. "Want one?" He smiled.

The puppy barked madly, and trotted over happily, and put her front paws on his shoe. She barked again, then tried to jump up to reach it.

Jacob laughed, and fed the treat to the young pup. He watched her happily. He knew that Shade would like her friendship.

The husky puppy yelped happily after devouring her treat, the lay on the floor, her head on her paws and whimpered again, looking up hopefully at Jacob.

Jacob smiled. He gently picked the Husky Puppy up, and walked out of the room, to the front desk to place her back in her cage. He was given a forum to fill.

The husky sat silent, glancing around nervously. The other puppies wee looking longingly at her and Jacob. What's their problem? The puppy asked herself in her own mind. She turned and looked at Jacob, watching him scribble on paper with a pen. She was then jolted around as Jacob carried her out. The pup yelped and then whimpered for a few seconds as light poure into her eyes, but they quickly adjusted. She was welcomed by traffic and car horns. And the noise level of the pound had dropped.

Jacob gently patted her, and placed her in the car. "your gonna like your new home,' he smiled.

The pup barked happily at him, and lay down, curled up like a ball of fluff and closed her eyes. She sighed quietly as she eased herself, and ignored the sudden but slight jolt and burst of noise a the car got moving.

Jacob had about a ten minute drive. He kept checking on the puppy at every light and such. Soon, they where in a little cabin in the woods. "Here we are. He smiled, an dparked in the drive way.

The puppy rose to her hind feet and put her paws on the car door, nudging the window impatiently, overwhelmed and overjoyed by the house.

Jacob laughed. He opened the car door, and scooped the young pup up. He walked towards the door, opened it, and set her down inside.

The puppy barked jubilantly, and raced around the house, clumsily knocking over a thing or two accidentally. She slowed to a prancing trot, and barked wondering if there were any ther animals here.

Jacob blinked. He sighed, and picked the things up. Luckily, they did not break, and he placed them back on the table. "Oh Shadow!" He called his basset hound over to meet the pup.

The husky sat with her head tilted and waited, glancing around the house with her tail curled round her side. She stayed silent, waiting for whoever 'Shadow' was to come out.

Shadow sighed, an dwalked quietly imto the room. He was a full grown basset hound.

The pup barked in surprise and staggered back slightly. She stared at the hound shyly.

Shadow sniffed the pup, and smiled slightly. "Hello there," He smiled. Jacob watched the two.

The puppy barked happily at Shadow. SHe lunged forward and lick Sadow's face excitedly. " 'Ello!" She said and grinned, continuing to lick him affectionately.

Shadow winced. He licked the pup back once, and pushed her away to keep him from dorwning. "Whats your name?"

The husky backed away when she heard the question. "I....don't have a name.." She said gently, gancing up at him.
