Alone in in the cold world

Rain was shoved forcefully into a stall, her bloody coat was dripping an dinfected. She was alone, scared, and worried. The man whipped her once more. "You lost! I bet all my money on you, you worthless horse!" He growled loudly, and hit once more. He threw the whip at her, and walked off. Rain looked at him, her head low, tears in her eyes. She was a lone, but she wouldn't be for long. She was going to have a foal in a few days or so, she woul dhave soemthing to live for. But she hoped the man in the big black boots wouldn't hurt her foal.

Trojan snorted powerfully as he pushed forward into a piaffe. His black coat lathered with sweat as white foam dripped from his mouth onto his up rising legs. Once he was finished his training the stallion was leed down the stables and placed inbto his stall. He watched his human fetch food and untack him. His nostrils flared as he took in the scent of blood and whinnied cautiously. Sticking his head out the stall door he watched his human drop the thing she was holding and rush over to the mare. The human fetched a first aid kit and began to work carefully on the mare.

Rain tried to pull away from the human, scared to death. She soon realised the human was trying to help her, and she relaxed a tiny bit. Her breathing was quick and shallow. She raised her head, and looked down at the human helping her. She snorted to her as a thanks, then looked up over the door to watch out for the man.

Eager to see what was going on Trojan began to push against the stable door until the hinges gave way and the door came crashing down, giving the strong stallion a mighty appearance. {Sorry getting tired}

Rain heard the crash of the large door, and nearly jumped up. SHe scurriewd back against the wood wall, and looked up at what made the noise. A stallion. Just what she needed.

Trojan snorted and watched the mare with curious eyes and stood outside the stall. "Hello." He whispered.

Rain watched the stallion silently. "Erm...hello." SHe whimpered.

Trojan snorted and watched the mare and his human cautiously. "What happened?" He asked, interested in the mares condition. The stallion arched his neck as he listened to the sound of approaching feet. He half reared and turned on the spot to see who it was.

Rain was about to speak, but she turned her head towards the sound. She quickly turned away. It was the man with the black boots. "Away from my horse!" He said, slowly and slurred. "She's mine, and I don't want yououu touching it!"

Trojan jumped into the mans path, blocking him from his human and the mare. He pinned his pitch black ears back and bared his teeth. His ears picked up the sound of his human walking around him to talk to the man. She calmed him down and told him she was helping his mare. Trojan listened and snorted in suprise as his human offered to buy the mare, offering a lot of money.

The man hicupped. "That little, Girl, I want at least a penny for that horssse." The man slurred, and held out his beersmelling hang.

Trojan snorted and stood back, his ears still pinned to the nape of his neck. "Sure sir" His human said, pulling a note out of her back pocket.

The man snatched it out of the girl's hand. "I'm rich!" He shouted and ran out of the barn, waving the money int he air.

Trojan snorted and lowered his noble head before trotting over to the tack room. He neighed happily, wanting to start more training. His owner smiled before turning to the mare and began patting her. She darted into the tack room and grabbed a lunging rein before heading back to the mare and clipping it onto her halter.

Rain snorted at the halter attatched to her. She tried to pull away, but only hurted herself. She snorted, and after awhile, gave up.

Trojan trotted up to the arena as his human tried to lead the mare up, wanting to see if she was lame. "Come on girl, after I'll set you the foaling box, fresh water, grain and all" she told the mare. Trojan pranced up ahead, wanting to canter around the arena. He watched the mare with careful, gentle eyes. "It's alright, she won't hurt you" He said before pacing on the spot.

Rain glanced at Trojan. Sighing softly, she did her best to stand up. Her legs where weak, and boney. She had hardly any energy to even stand. She took a single step forward, and that was her last. She colasped.

The girl unclipped the lead. "I'll get the foaling box ready, you stay here and I'll bring some feed." She ran off and mixed some high energy feed and fresh water, bringing them back to the mare. "Here" She spoke softly. Trojan cantered down and stood by the mare. "She'll take care of you" He whispered.

Rain nodded up at Trojan. She didn't talk much. The mare took a nibble of the food she was brought, and nickered in delight. She ate as much as she could, as fast as she could.

Trojan watched her with curious eyes, he blinked a few times before looking around quietly. Tired, he rested his hind leg.

Rain looked up at Trojan with soft eyes. "Why is she so nice?"

Trojan snorted, "Why wouldn't she be?" He blinked slowly, maybe this mare didn't realise that most humans were rather kind towards their horses.

"Because all humans are coldhearted. From what I saw, anyway." She snorted, and nibbled on a bit of bedding.
