The Pony with No Rider

Alicia laughed as the mare shook water over her and turned her head, trying to not get the suddy water in her eyes. She stepped back and wiped the water off her face. Alicia was feeling rather playful. She untied Daisy and grabbed a bucket of water, "Oh your in for it now!" Alicia said with a smile on her face and tipped it over the mare. Many people turned their heads to smile in amusement.

Daisy nieghed and pricked her ears... As Alicia poured a bucket of water over her Daisy stamped on the edge of a nearby bucket which someone had left, full of water. It flipped, splashing the water all over Alicia. Daisy neighed in laughter and she shook herself off.

Alicia felt a wave of water drench her clothes. Luckily she wasn't wearing white today; she was wearing a lime green t-shirt and black joddys. Alicia stumbled back a bit as she felt droplets of water spray onto her from Daisy.

Daisy pricked her ears, finally in a happy mood. She realised that Alicia was very kind....so far, unlike everybody else around here.

Alicia put her hands onto her hips, "Well lets look on the bright side. The dirt smear on your face is off even without me touching you face, thats good." She chuckled, and started scraping the water from her drenched coat.

Daisy snorted in response and she stood where she was, watching everyone around giving surprised, shocked looks

Alicia started drying Daisy until she was almost dry, just keeping her a little damp so the sun could dry her coat and also so she would keep a little cool.

Daisy flciked her tail and snorted softly.. her ears flciked back and forth contnuously for no real reason

Alicia really wanted to get riding, but she didn't want to rush into things yet, since she had worked so hard to build up her trust with Daisy. She untied the mare and started leading her back to the stables, to feed, water and groom her.

Daisy followed Alicia without any complaints, She nudged the girl softly and nickered

Alicia put the mare into her stall and unclipped the rope from her halter, slinging it over the stall door. "You be good now, I'll be back in a minute," She said and gave the mare a scratch on the nose, exiting the stables and disappearing into the feed room.

Daisy snorted and she laid down, rolling in the stall, the sawdust that was used for bedding, sticking to her damp coat.

Alicia arrived with a rather heavy bucket of horse mash. She dropped it down gently, placing it beside the stall door. Alicia opened the stall door to se the mare rolling in sawdust, she laughed musically. "Sheesh. How much mischief can one pony get into in one day?" She asked, shaking her head then grabbed the bucket of mash and tipping it into her feed trough.

Daisy stood up as she saw the feed being put into her feed trough adn she shook off the loose sawdust and without waiting for Alicia to finishing pouring it in she started eatng it.

Alicia laughed softly, "Hey! You must be hungry," She said and emptied the last of the mash into the trough. She walked outside and put the bucket outside of the stall and grabbed another bucket to fill up with water.

Daisy continued eatng as Alicia spoke and then walked out.. She then raised her head as she ate what she wanted and then looked out the stall, looking for Alicia

Alicia walked back with a heavy pail of water resting on the first creases of her fingers. It was that heavy it felt like it was slowly slicing through. Alicia shifted it to her arm while she unlatched the stall door, walking over and tipping the water into her feed trough.

Daisy snorted softly and she lowered her head and had a drink. She flicked her tail and stamped the saw dust and it went everywhere..

Alicia found herself picking pieces of sawdust from her hair and off of her clothes. "Sheesh.." She muttered to herself and walked outside the grab some hay, then walked in and filled up her haynet for the night. She then walked into the tack room and fetchd Daisy's groom set, then walked back to her stall.

Daisy snorted again and she shook herself off, raising her head. She then laid down again, on her side.

Alicia walked back into Daisy's stall and crouched down beside the mare, "I'm guessing I have to groom you like this.. or are you going to get up for me?" She asked, a smile painting her lips.

Daisy flicked her tail at Alicia and snorted, staying where she was. She didn't want to move.

Alicia sat down beside Daisy and swept a brush over her silky, sawdusty coat. She continued to brush the mare, hoping she didn't want to move because she was sick..

Daisy snorted again, her ears falling back and then flicking forward again constantly. She sneezed as sawdust went up her nose and then she coguhed a few times before she snorted again and fell quiet.

Alicia stopped grooming Daisy and petted her neck softly then rose. She walked over to the secretary, "I think Daisy might be sick," She mentioned worriedly. Alicia watched as the woman dialed the vet's number.
