NiceTry's Race.

EasyChamp, here called NiceTry, moved excitedly and looked around at the other muscular Thoroughbreds eagerly awaiting for the gates to open. He almost leaned on them but was slightly pulled back by his jockey, EasyChamp could sense that he was tense and very nervous. He heard the noise followed by the small gates opening in the flash of light, EasyChamp out of them almost before they had fully opened.

Flashback squeezed out the gates and found herself next to a masculine stallion, she snorted and pulled ahead with a burst of speed. The jockey checked her in and steadied her so she was in the middle of the band of horses on the outside. She moved at a nice easy gallop next to another filly. This was her first mixed race as her owner was not sure how she would go.

EasyChamp snorted loudly then pushed on, finding himself in a great position near the front, it suited his level. He looked around, just to be put in his head in the middle of his chest. He tried to speed past the horse in front but his jockey held him, not letting him go any faster to waste his energy. He snorted and felt sweat slowly growing on his neck, it felt sticky and uncomfortable. He slowly picked up pace around the corner, muzzle to muzzle with the horse that was second, his owner finally let him knowing how much stamina he had.

Flashback snorted and surged foreward, her speed and endurace kicking in. Her jockey checked her again so she was running in forth. She stretched her neck out and her legs struck the ground hard.

EasyChamp could feel his jockey feeling slightly frustrated by the way they fought over his speed, there was still 2 whole norther corner then straight to the finish, this was quite a short race. His jockey glanced behind him quickly, there was a large group of Thoroughbreds then a few at the back. He slightly slowed EasyChamp down, this is were he let EasyChamp regain some energy for the sprint. Easy started slowly moving back until he was at the horses rump, he was now 3rd. He looked at the horse in front, it was a few lengths in front of them both, the horse was going to run out of stamina too quickly and fall behind at the end.

Flashback snorted and galloped forward, slowly gaining on the three horses ahead, she was at NiceTry's rump as they turned the corner. She snorted into his flank as she slowly gained speed, she was starting to sweat now.

EasyChamp went to go into a full gallop but his owner stopped him, there was still quite a way to go yet. He slowly gained speed until the horse, that was 2nd...Now third galloped at his shoulder. EasyChamp's jockey looked over at the horse and rider they had passed and looked away as saw his glare, it almost seemed deathly.

Flashback's jockey looked under her shoulder to chech if the horses were gaining, some were. Flashback snorted and her legs moved faster across the ground. She sped towards the three horses ahead and slowly moved on the outside so she could have a clear run. She over took the horse in 3rd place by the time they neared the last corner.

EasyChamp almost jumped in excitement as the end came into site. He moved into a full gallop, putting in all his left over effort. He came closer and closer to the horse in 1st as the horse grew too tired and fell back, just as he had predicted. He slightly moved more in for a smaller corner as they went around it then started passing 1st, the jockey whacking it with the whip to keep going.

Flashback's stride quickened and she covered ground faster, snorting for more air as she gained on the horse that was just over taken. She sped towards the horse in first and then they were on the straight. Flashback's jockey flicked the whip out so she could see it so she flew foreward, gaining with every stride, the finish line teasing her. She could also feel the jockeys doubt as he knew that the horse ahead was a colt. Flashback snorted loudly as she reached the colt's shoulder.

EasyChamp didn't even glance at her, feeling the whip hit his side and he widened his stride...Spring forward quickly as the finish line wasn't too far away now. Every so strides he would get whipped again, forced to pick up speed. He felt sweat now dripping off his neck and where the bridle was placed, even under the girth he sweated. He smiled as he pushed in front of Flash back and slowly went faster, he didn't know he could go this fast for so long.

Flashback grunted as she was struck sharply on the flank with the whip. Onwards she sped, gaining ground and galloping beside Champ and speeding faster untill they were in the lead! Flashback was in the open, nothing stopping her. Powering forward at breakneck speed she tore towards the finishline, it was so close and she was so exillerated from being in lead.

EasyChamp felt the whip lash against his side several times and thundered closer, there was a huge chance he wouldn't make it, but that didn't stop his jockey. He whip him with every stride and urged him on, giving him all of his reins to just leg it. He looked forward, the finish line was only about 40 meters away now as he quickly caught up, muzzle to muzzle. He felt the whip lash him again and he widened his strides but kept them as quick as he possibly could.

Flashback saw the compitition and lurched forward seconds before the jockey cracked the whip on her flank. She snorted as she speed up, her legs moved fast with her efforts to speed up. She began to pull infront of the other horse, the finish line a few seconds away. She was fighting hard to keep her place in first, the jockey was dumbstruck that she had made it this far already against a colt. Flashbacks muscles rippled and worked harder then ever as the jockey began to whip more frequently.

EasyChamp snorted loudly with every breathe, pushing out his well bred head so his muzzle was further out. He felt the whip hit him harshly, this time it was hard. He almost squealed in pain but instead he just winced, moving further out and speeding up again....Having a feeling he wasn't going to beat her, at least by much. He came to her side and pushed out his muzzle as far as he could, they both thundered past the finish line.....No idea who had won.

Flashback had her head streatched out and had a thin layer of sweat when the jockey stopped pushing her after they had finished, she was a little tiered now and her muscles were aching slightly but she still had energy. She was slowed to a slow gallop and eventually a canter, the jockey bopped around in the saddle. He was anxious to find out who had won. Both the horses had passed the post in nearly matching stride and it would have to be very close. The crowd was whispering about who they thought had won and as Flashback passed them she heard a few people murmer 'Dead Heat'.

EasyChamp galloped on for a long time, just not putting in as much effort. He looked back at the other horses and snorted loudly. He felt a light praise of strokes on his sweaty neck. His ears pricked as the loud announcer got everyone prepared to announce the winner. He slowed to a slow canter with wide strides, his snorting slowly turning back into breathes as he listened nervously.

Flashback listened keenly, her ears fliched as she cantered and was joined by a mounted white pony, like the one that was joining the other possible winner. NiceTry. Flashback looked around and slowed to a trot and concintrated on what the anouncer was saying. She snorted impatiently as he paused to let tension seep through the audience.

Who wins? xD I don't want to make a choice you hate.]

[Dead heat? Could be one of the rarest moments in racing.]

Could it be a unbelievable exact tie? Then they could go down in history rofl.]

[Sure, lets make it they were in exact stride too.]

xD Ok.]

Nice Try was slowed to a trot then skidded to a stop as he heard the announcer sharing his amazement with the crowd. "The Winners is....I can't believe it, Its a complete tie!" He said. The crowd paused for a long moment, Really? They stayed silent then cheered for them both. Nice Try pricked his ears and started trotting again, surprised.

Flashback tossed her fine head and whinnied, she felt like rearing but the jockey wanted to go to the winners circle. She trotted proudly, her head high and tail bannered. Her legs moved high and swiftly over the ground. The jockey ushered her into the small pen filled with flowers. Two blankets waited for her and NiceTry.

Nice Try smiled then trotted with huge strides to the winners circle, looking at Flashback as he halted in the circle. He felt a blanket being put on his sweaty and fine back, it covering his muscles that rippled even though they ached slightly from all the effort he had put in to the race.
