Jala arrives
Jala sighed, her joints aching from the long downhill descent she had taken to get to the bottom of Death Valley. She swished her black-streaked tail, flicking away some pesky flies. Sweat was gathering on her dappled coat, even though it was winter. Then Jala lifter her head with renewed determination, and trotted forwards, her long mane sweeping back across her neck and back. At last, she reached a small ledge, beneath it was shade. Only a little, but enough. She pawed at the ground for a while, before it began to look slightly damp, She continued pawing until a little water welled up at the bottom. She stuck her nose in it, and sucked until mud went into her mouth. Slightly refreshened by the feeling of her throat back to normal, she ventured out from under the ledge in search of food, but mainly, in search of company.
Re: Jala arrives
Glory ventured through the dry valley, his coal black coat attracting the sun's strong rays. Sweat pushed through his thick, gleaming coat and adrenaline pulsed through his pulsing veins. His feathers were plastered in a thin coat of dry dust and his mane and tail were tangled and matted, but he couldn't care less. He had been galloping for hours, almost a full day. The sun was at it's peak, falling behind the large, unconquered mountains. He searched in vein for shelter and refreshments, but nothing of the sort lay in this deathtrap of a valley.
