Sonny and her horse, Karly

Sonny walked out of the house which stood in the middle of the ranch. Her caramel hair long and straight, gently blowing in the breeze. She looked around the ranch until she saw her favourite mare, Karly. A smile spread on her face and she walked towards her as she galloped over to the paddock fence. She petted the mare and gave her the carrot which she held in one of her hands. She watched as Karly ate it greedily and she chuckled and ran a hand through her long hair. She sighed softly. It's been 4 years since her parents had died and the ranch was handed down to her... She still missed them deeply but those emotions never showed themselves and were buried deep in the depths of her heart..

I sat out on the bottom rail of the paddock fence. My gaze drifted every 5 seconds. I was normally watching my foal, Shame and my stallion, Divinity. Shame was acting like a brat as usual, while Divinity just grazed in the shade. I yawned under the glare of the sun as it shone down directly off me. I shifted and slid through the rails. I saw a teen girl with her horse. A smile came over my face, I watched her for a while. She was very pretty.

Sonny noticed something in the corner of her eyes and she turned her head to see a guy.. She smiled at him then she pertted Karly before she climbed over the paddock fence and walked over to the guy"hi"she said warmly

I looked down into the cheerful face of this girl and smiled, "Howdy, thee names' Daniel," I said quietly and looked over at my 2 horses. Shame had seemed to of settled down and Divinity was still grazing under the shade of a gum tree. I smiled at my horses and turned my attention back to the girl.

Sonny smiled again"my name's Sonny"she said kindly. then she wondered why she hadn;t seen her around here before....was he new? or did she just miss him?

I watched her for a moment and nodded. I hadn't really heard a lot of girls with the name 'Sonny'. I glanced over at the horse she was patting just before, "Is she yours or do you loan her?" I asked curiously, standing up and leaning against the fence.

Sonny laughed softly"That's my mare. Actually this whole ranch is mine and 20 other horses that go with it."she replied with a smile

My eyesbrows raised with surprised, she must of been rich then to of owned this whole ranch and 21 horses. "Wow, I only board here and those two are mine," I said and pointed my fingers to Shame and Divinity, "The foal is Shame. Total brat," I laughed, "The stallion is Divinity, he is a total sweetheart." I told her.

Sonny smiled"cute"she said, meaning the foal"My main horse, is the mare i was with, her name's Karly"she with a smile. She looked over at Karly who neighed to her instantly she saw her owner looking at her.

I nodded, "Ahhk, she's pretty," I commented and watched as Shame approached, her ears flicked back. She was quite nosy and bratty. "Hey Shame," I whistled to the filly but she didn't turn her attention to me. She simply walked over to Sonny and sniffed her, then nipped her shirt with satisfaction, then walked off. "Ayee! Arrr. I'm sorry about that," I stuttered.

Sonny looked at Shame with a smiled then she giggled"it's fine. I have a foal here and she's kinda like her."

I felt relieved that she didn't hate my filly, "Ahhk. I see then! Whats her name?" I asked conversationally.

"Fear"Sonny said"a little girl who came here a day after Fear was born was scared of her and the girl kept repeating 'Fear' or 'scared' and she comes by Fear now so it's stuck."she smiled

I smiled, she sounded just like Shame. Suddenly, my big horse Divinity walked over and nuzzled my hands in greeting. He pricked his ears at Sonny and flicked his ears back and forth nervously, unsure whether to trust her or not.

Sonny smiled and stretched a hand towards Divinity but she didn't make a move to forceably pat hm

Daniel watched as the girl reached out to stroke his horse. He smiled, "He gets slightly nervous when there are new people around; meaning people he hasn't met before" He told him and stroked Divinity gently who had now calmed down.

Sonny smiled"yeah. Total oppisite of Karly"she said with a chuckle
