Near Death

Dove glared at the sky. "What now?" She mumbled, looking around the allyway.

Rock tried to remain in his calm posture as he said, "There should be some box or something..." He could feel more and more drips of water falling upon him. Rock leapt forward, looking down the alleys. "There!"

He herd the puppies into a large cardboard box that could probably fit all of them in. Rock grabbed a piece of towel nearby for the puppies to get warm, since there were no other choices, then told Dove to join the puppies. Rock's only other shelter was on the steps in front of a locked door with a miniature canopy. It wasn't much help since he was getting wet anyway.

Rain began pouring down heavily. Rock noticed that the puppies were scrambling for the warmth of the towel. He sighed, knowing that he should have made preparations for this kind of situations. Just then, he noticed a cracked open door with only a small opening. There was light emitting from within and there was a strong scent of... fresh food.

She wondered where the male had gone to, as she tried to clean up her wounds.
