Near Death

Dove followed Rock as the party hid silently.

Rock peered out to watch the men.

One observant man walked over to the forced open cage and stroked his beard. "What happened to these?" he demanded. Another few surrounded the cage with questioning looks.

Dove backed up abit, moving her pups with her.

Rock continued to watch the man as they left in frustration to find out what happened to the pups. Checking that the coast is clear, he looked back at Dove, then walked out.

Dove walked out, but told her pups to stay there. she began messing with some younger pups cages to get them free.

Rock approached each cage and tugged and pulled at the handles, freeing the pups in each cage. He moved on down the row quickly as the pups scrambled out of their cages, weak and vulnerable.

Dove kept going until the end, about 100 pups with them. Some abit old enough to go on by them selves.

Before long, all the pups were released, although Rock thought that perhaps there were more, adult dogs being bred just then. He sighed, then trotted over to the door, puppies scrambling around his feet. He pushed open the door and the pups poured out.

Dove rushed after the pups, leading them to the safe allly. There where all abandond shops and plenty of room there. She watched all the pups scramble.

Rock walked after them. "We can't possibly feed all of them," he pointed out. There were just too many.

"Maybe we could give some homes." Dove shrugged, watching them all play."

"We could... But they may not nessecarily take them in." Rock answered, then added, "Or treat them well,"

"We could look for people who have dogs that are treated well and try them," Dove sugested.

Rock nodded in agreement. "It'll be quite hard to actually move around with them, though. Also too many people in town in the day."

Dove sighed softly. "How about early morning? No ones up too early."

Rock nodded in agreement. He watched as the puppies played at his feet then walked around in search of food. He knocked over the nearest bin and all sorts of objects fell out, scattered all over the ground.

Live went and tore open a trash back, as a few bones and stuff fell out. She wondered when al the puppies ate, if her and Rock have any food

Rock checked the trash bag for any other food left. He peered out of the bag and shook his head. He searched the area for a while until he found a half-eaten burger tossed away on the ground in a grass patch. He walked back over to Dove and offered it to Dove.

Dove took part of it, and let Rock have the rest. Since most of the pups where fed, they all where sleeping.

Gulping down the leftovers of the burger, Rock watched the puppies sleep soundly, their adorable expressions covering up for their loud snoring. Chuckling, Rock laid on the ground and munched down the rest of the burger.

Dove curled around the pups, keeping them warm.

After making sure all the puppies were completely asleep, Rock watched out for anything that could be a threat to them. In the night, he kept a ear alert for any suspicious sounds.

Rock shifted lazily as one of the puppies chewed on his ear lightly. He looked around. Some of the puppies were already up and the sky was still slightly dark. He gave a stretch and stood up, pushing the pup away gently. Rock watched as the puppy shoved another puppy awake. Soon, all the puppies would be awake and hungry.
Rock decided to start searching for more food before all of the puppies awoke. As he glanced over at Dove, Rock gave a slight yawn.

Dove was woken by pups wakeing up all aroudn her. She sighed, looking at them all, expecting her to bring food. She sniffed around her area, knocking down a trashcan. She was lucky this time, being able to give some food to the pups. She made sure the smallest and weakest pups ate first, then worked her way up until there was no food left. She hoped Rock would get some food.
