A frighting experience.

Kayla stopped and looked back. She was on the street now and she could see a blue and white van coming down the road.... the Animal Control van! She put her heckles up and flattened her ears, then ran into a yard of a house and hid in the garden.

Rough saw the large van at his side, the man looking over at him. He kept running and dodged everything they used to catch him through the window. The finally gave up and stopped the car, getting out and sprinting after him.

Kayla spotted Rough running from the animal control man. She gave a deep growl, but stayed where she was. She peered out from behind the bushes, she wondered if Rough had killed those girls.... She barked then ran out from the bushes... mad mistake. There was another Animal control officer that she hadn't seen right behind her, the loop tightened a round her neck. She was captured, she pulled against the rope around her neck trying to get away, but it was no use. The man started to drag her back to the van.

Rough saw Kayla being captured and skid to a stop, missing the lope by inches. He snapped at it as he sprinted past and towards Kayla and the man. Once he reached them he pounced onto the man, knocking him over instantly.

Kayla scampered away quickly, with the loop of rope dragging behind her. She glanced at Rough "Thanks!" she called. She dodged one of the men, as he lunged for her. "I'll grab the net!" The man called to the other, heading for the van.

Zed went to rip the mans flesh but he was out from underneath him within seconds, soon after he was forced to the ground. He looked around, he was in a net. He stood and tried to shake it off as the other man approached. He turned and sprinted, tripping a few times as the net was still over top of him.

Kayla bared her teeth. She looked at Rough trapped under the net, then ran at the men, jumping on top of one of them. She grabbed the mans hair and shook, the man let out a cry. She smirked then bit the mans hand, she jumped off him, then ran at the other man. But this time it went wrong, she had a rope around her neck again. She growled and tried to pull herself free. But it was no use. They put her into the back of the van, and went to get Rough.

Rough snarled as he saw Kayla be taken by the humans and locked into their square like vehicle. He picked up the pace whilst he thought hard, should he leave Kayla? Or should he come back later to find her in the pound?

Kayla banged against the metal bars she was it, she flattened her ears and barked. "Let me out, you stupid humans!" she said biting the bars. She heard one of the men say "Lets leave the male, we will be back for him." Then she felt the van moving. She sat down, and started to whimper. Was Rough going to come back for her? She sighed, then started barking again.

Rough skidded to a halt and glanced back, no humans were chasing after him. He snarled loudly and turned, sprinting after the van. He could faintly hear Kayla's angry barks from behind the metal of the white van.

Kayla continued to bark, the van swerved around a corner, which made her go flying into the side of her cage. She yelped then got back onto her feet. She felt the van stop, then one of the men came around the the back of the van and pulled Kayla out of the van. He had a loop of rope around her neck. He dragged her inside, a big building. The Animal Shelter. Kayla tugged back on the rope as hard as she could but soon enough she was in the building. She looked back trying to spot Rough, she barked as the man then ran at Him, biting his foot. The man swore then let go, and grabbed his leg. Kayla took her chance and ran for the door, but she couldn't get out, so she ran through an open door, which lead into another room. She stopped and looked around wondering what to do.

Zed picked up the pace, following the trail of smoke lingering through the air from the putting van. He growled as the vehicle came in site, it had stopped. He slowed at the van, scraping his paws on the large door at the back, where Kayla had been locked. He barked loudly then sniffed the air, she wasn't here.

Kayla ran back out the room, and back into the entrance. A customer walked through the door. Kayla ran under the customer's feet, making her way back outside. She ran as fast as she could away from the Animal Shelter. She ran past Rough, not seeing him.

Zed growled as a large figure bashed his shoulder, sprinting away. He quickly turned and noticed it was Kayla, barking loudly before running after her.

Kayla skidded to a stop, then turned around. "Rough!" she cried, wagging her tail. She was pleased to see him. She looked back at the Animal Shelter, A man ran out the door "Get back here dog!" he called. "We have to go!" Kayla said, then took off running down the road. The man gave up when he saw them run off. He walked back inside.

Zed quickly glanced back before taking off after Kayla, a snarl escaping through his sharp teeth as he saw the man.

Kayla slowed down, when she got down the road a little further. She stopped and wagged her tail "Glad to see you again. It's horrible in that place!" she said glancing back in the direction they came.

Zed grunted then shook his coat, replacing the growl. He glanced forward then lied down in rest, his intelligent head falling onto his carefully placed paws.

Kayla watched Rough. She walked onto the footpath, a distance away from Rough, and lay down. She sighed, and starred at Rough, not quite sure what to say. Eventually her eyelid's dropped, and she drifted off the sleep.

Zed jumped as he heard a loud horn, it ringing in his excellent, pricked ears. He turned and snarled at the car that had tried to scare him off the road, they have failed. He jumped onto the bonnet of the small vehicle, his long claws scratching the panted surface.

Kayla's eye's opened. She saw Rough, on the bonnet of the of the vehicle, and stood up "Rough!" she called, and ran after the car. which was now slowing. The car stopped further down the road, and a tall lady climbed out. Kayla stopped, a distance away from the car, and started barking, at the lady. May she should be a little more careful on roads.... or was it Rough who was on the road? she couldn't remember. She moved slowly toward the lady, who was rushing around to see if Rough was okay.

Zed snarled at the approaching lady, snapping out at her. He jumped onto the roof off the car, the metal clanging then slightly drooping where he stood. He finally sprung off the vehicle and sprinted past Kayla, he wanted to get back to his alley way, where no humans dared to approach.

The lady gasped, she watched Rough running, then sighed, and threw her hands in the air, and looked at the car "Aw now look at the car! Mike's gonna be furious!" she said then climbed back into her, now scratched car, and drove off. Kayla sighed, then ran after Rough, not saying anything as she ran.

Zed snarled under his breathe. Unintelligent bunch of worthless creatures, the world would be so much better without them Zed thought angrily to himself.

Kayla slowly caught up to Rough. She stayed behind him a little. "Where are you going?" she asked quickly.
