"Yes." Kayla said. She watched Rough's expressions. He seemed confused, or something. She smiled at him.

"Positive?" Rough asked, his confusion that was plastered to his face still remaining. He sprung out of a small crack, revealing the outside, busy world.

The strong stench of liquidy gas suddenly filled their nostrils. Zed snorted faintly at the scent then padded through the busy streets. He held his proud head low and padded weakly, wanting to look weak and pityfull as he trotted past the pityful humans.

Kayla coughed a little, then copied Rough, she put her tail between her tail as she padded after him. She glanced at a few humans sitting on a park bench, a distance away, and wagged her tail slightly.

"Why don't you go with them? They look friendly enough." Rough said, once noticing she was wagging her tail towards them. He slightly flicked his ears back and pursed his lips, his daggered fangs from his bottom lip showing; just warning the humans.

Kayla starred at Rough. "I said, I want to be with you." she said. She glanced back at the humans, they did seem nice, but she still wanted to stay with Rough. She sighed, then looked back at Rough.

Once out of sight, Rough straightened his hunched back and trotted through his gloomy, spine chilling alley with great pleasure. He lay down on the cold, cracked concrete with a sigh. He small shiver ran through him before glancing over at Kayla. "You positive?" He asked.

"Yes." Kayla said, starting to get annoyed. Couldn't Rough get the point that she wanted to stay with him? She lay down, and placed her head on her paws.

Rough sighed heavily whilst resting his restful head onto his sturdy, ragged paws. He lingered his glaze away from Kayla, settling on the alley concrete wall.

Kayla flicked her ears forward, she was certain she could hear talking somewhere. She sniffed the air. There were other dogs near here. She let a deep growl rumble from her chest, then stood up and glanced around.

Zed, at the warning, sprung up then snarled a menacing bark. He bared his teeth then took off down the alley with increasing anger.

Kayla sprinted after Rough. She flattened her ears as she ran. The sound of paws hitting the ground echoed through the alley, just ahead three dogs stood in the middle of the alley. Two of them were dobermans and the other was some kind of crossbreed. She barked an aggressive bark, and stayed by Rough's side.

Rough sprinted forward, completely knocking over one of the agressive dogs. He bit into some loose skin through thick fur, pretty sure it was the neck.

Kayla stayed back, unsure whether she would be able to take down one of the dogs by herself. She just barked, hoping the scare the dogs off. Suddenly, the crossbred lunged toward her, knocking her to the ground. She felt a sharp pain in her neck, she yelped, then bit into the dogs skin, unsure what area she had bitten.

Rough just scratched and bit until the oposing dog surrendered. He watched it sprint away with a snarling bark then bit into another with his bloody teeth. He moved away with a unsuspected yelp, then looked over at Kayla.

Kayla shook whatever part of the dog she had just gripped onto. She scrambled out from under the dog, still handing onto it, under the dog surrended, and ran off after the other dog. She backed away, out of breath.

Rough continued to dig his claws into the oposing dog's skin, tearing fur and flesh. He snapped at his long, thin and destinctive muzzle then snarled vicously, lashing out once more.

Kayla watched Rough. She felt blood oozing down her neck. She groaned and glanced down at her paw where there was a smudge of blood. She licked it, then looked back at Rough and the other dog.

Rough had a scrap with it until it showed obvious submission, laying back onto its stomach with a whimper. Rough snarled and snapped at him before letting him run.

Kayla watched as the dog scampered away. She gave Rough a quick smile, then shook off. She ignored the pain as she shook off, then walked over to Rough. "Did you get hurt?" she asked quickly.

"Mhp." Rough replied, he couldn't be bothered looking over himself. "Are you?" He asked in return, she looked it. He lay down onto his side.

"Ah, just a little, it's not that bad." Kayla said, then lay down. She started to pant.

Rough nodded then started to lick his only wound. The pain struck deep.

Kayla watched Rough. She stood up and walked over next to him, and lay down beside him. She sighed, then lay her head onto her paws and closed her eyes. She wondered what they would do next.
