Riding Stables on a Tropical Island.

Tiarni laid on her comfortable beach towel with her bikini on and a pair of mini board shorts. She grabbed a bottle of sunscreen which was next to her and rubbed it into her skin, placing her neon yellow sunglasses over her eyes. The girl laid down and smiled at her friend, Grayson on her left side and her horse Tropic on her right, rolling in the sand. Tiarni enjoyed spending her free time at the stables beach out the back of the stables with her best friend. The water was an ice blue color and crystal clear, the sand was a rich texture of yellow and grains of brown, surrounded by palm and banana trees with a long of shortly cut grass. She sighed and laid back onto her towel, it was good living here.

Tropic rolled in the sand lazily, flicking sand in all directions, whinnying happily to all the other people and horses on the beach. She stood up at flicked the sand from her coat, walking back to the grass line and began grazing while her tail whipped around her legs.

Jason was new around this area. The boy didn't know anyone but kept seeing girls look at him. Some of them were pretty but he didn't really take notice of much else. He walked the short distance to the stables and smiled when his horse nickered to him. "Hello there boy," Jason murmured to his stallion and grabbed a halter for his horse. The boy planned to go ride on the beach with him. He walked his horse out of the stable and put the halter on. He was only going to ride with a halter and lead rope tied to it. Mounting his stallion, they started trotting down to the beach. As they reached the sand Storm started to canter, sand was flicking up behind them as the cantered along to beach. Jason steered his horse towards the waters edge and felt the water flicking up into his face.

Tiarni felt light sprinkles of sand flick onto her tanned legs. She stared after the horse wwho had done it and sighed, gently brushing it off with the palm of her hand. The girl accepted a cold lemonade Grayson was handing her and opened it, sipping lightly before putting it onto the grass behind her, where it was flat and hard. Tiarni sighed and shifted back onto her stomach and put her head in her arms, groaning quietly as she felt the hot sun boil on her back.

Jason slowed his horse to a walk and jumped off, landing partly in the water. His horse nudged him with his muzzle, making Jason fall into the water. Storm threw his head up and half reared, as if to laugh. The boy laughed and got back up. "You're a good boy," he murmured and looked down the beach a little way to where two girls were laying down. He wondered who they were. Should he go up to them and introduce himself? Storm shook his head and snorted. Jason chuckled and took off his halter "Let's swim!" he told his horse. Dropping the halter, he ran into the water. Storm whinnied and trotted in with him.

Tiarni shifted into the shade and looked around, pulling her knees up to her chest, hugging them while gently rocking baack and forth. She combed an annoying strand of hair behind her ears and took another drink of lemonade and gently stroked her mare's muzzle as she scrunched it up as she pulled on the grass.

Tropic raised her head and flicked her ears, watching another horse and rider that stood out from all the others. She snorted and pawed the ground, wanting to go meet them, Tiarni normally let her wonder. The mare gently nudged the girl and trotted along the beach towards Storm and Jason. Tropic reached the water and took a few tentative steps into it, flinging her head back, neighing. She let her head fall back to place and did a small playful rear, making a small splash as her hooves collided with the water's surface.

Storm pricked his ears at the sound of another horse. The stallion glanced at the mare and back at Jason. He let out a soft nicker towards the mare. He trotted towards the mare a little way and stopped to look back at Jason. With a shrug, he trotted the rest of the way to the mare. Once Storm was close enough, he reached out and sniffed the mares nose.

Jason watched Storm with curious eyes. He headed towards where he had dropped the stallions halter and picked it up. The boy wondered if the horse was one of the girls horses. He sighed and started walking along the beach. Sticking his fingers in his mouth, he let out a whistle for Storm to come. Not hearing any hooves beating behind him, Jason turned to see his stallion nuzzle the mares shoulder. The boy put his hands on his hips.

Tiarni shot up and walked down the beach and into the water, she didn't like her horse wondering off to meet others, she wasn't a very good communicator when it came to apologizing or even speaking to another person, apart from Grayson. She slipped off her thongs and jogged into the water, slipping her hand under the halter on the mare's cheek firmly grabbed hold of it. The girl glanced at the stallion in front of her and sighed, "Go back to your owner, boy," She said, flicking water at the horse lightly.

Tropic pricked her ears and slightly dipped her head, sniffing the stallion's nose as he did with her. She snorted as she heard Tiarni coming towards them and rolled her eyes, her ears slightly flicking back.

Jason frowned slightly at the girl who stood with the mare. He started to walk towards his horse. As he reached the stallion, he moved a hand over the stallions shoulder. Clicking his tongue, the boy started walking away "Come on Storm, the girl doesn't want you near her mare." He didn't look at the girl. Jason walked towards the stables slowly. He felt like company here was going to be hard. Water dripped from his hair onto his bare chest.

Storm snorted and flicked his tail. Nickering quietly, he started following his owner. The stallion hung his head and sighed. He didn't like it that he knew no other horses.

Tiarni glanced up at the boy, he looked lonely, but his features were stunning and he looked quite cute. His words had cut through her like a knife through her heart, she hadn't meant to make him feel unwelcome or like an outcast. She knew what it was like, trying to fit into someplace new. Guilt stuck in her mind and she started to feel sympathetic. The girl hadn't noticed she had been staring after him and watched him disappear down the trail back to the stables. Tiarni glanced at her mare and reached up, grabbing a handful of her mare's hair, swinging herself up onto her silky back. She nudged her mares sides and they trotted after the boy and his horse. The girl turned Tropic into the main trail where they had disappeared into and saw them up ahead, she nudged her mare into a faster trot and was soon by the boy's side. She wasn't sure what to say but tried her best, "Um.. sorry about before.. I didn't mean for you too feel unwelcome here.. as you are new.." So good so far. "My name is Tiarni and this is Tropic. I could show you around the area if you like?" She offered generously. Tiarni glanced at him for the first time up close, he was shirtless. The girl looked away sheepishly and glanced down at herself. She wasn't wearing much either. A bikini top and a pair of mini board shorts. Ouch.. that was embarrassing..

Tropic pricked her ears and obeyed her owners commands, slowing beside the new boy. She leaned over and sniffed his arm. He smelt like water. Probably because he was wet. The mare chuckled lowly and flicked her forelock out of her eyes.

Jason heard a horse coming up behind him and was surprised that a voice spoke to him. He clicked his tongue when his horse started to slow. Glancing up at the girl, the edge of his mouth slightly turned up into a smile "I'm Jason and yes I'm new here. My horse is Storm," he told her softly and kept walking towards the stables. He still held the halter in his hand. The boys eyes raked over the girls body. She was cute, more then cute. Jason looked away, his cheeks partly going red in embarrassment "You don't have to show me around, I'm sure I can find things but if you have nothing better to do, sure." He glanced down at his board short and bare feet. Maybe he should ride. The boy slowed to walk along side his horse. As Storm started to slow, he clicked his tongue "Keep walking," he muttered and gripped the stallions mane. Jason swung himself up onto his horses back and stroked him softly "Good boy."

Storm pricked his ears forward at the mare and snorted. He walked behind his owner, listening quietly. The horse obeyed the boy when he commanded things. Feeling Jason on his back, the stallion raised his head and nickered softly.

Tiarni tilted her head to the side, noticing his cheeks turning red. She chewed her lip to fight back a smile. The girl slowed Tropic slightly as Jason mounted his horse, she combed a strand of hair behind her ears, "Where have you come from?" She asked curiously, trying to start a conversation. Tiarni held one hand gently on her mare's shoulder and the other gently played with a lock of Tropic's hair. The girl gazed around, humming quietly to herself as she waited for his answer.

Tropic lowered her head to the ground but continued to walk, snatching up mouthfuls of grass as she pleased.

Jason glanced at Tiarni, "I don't really have a proper home. We travel. . a lot. Um, last place I was in was America," he told her softly. He clicked his tongue and leaned forward. The boy slipped the halter over Storm's muzzle and did it up. "Good boy," he whispered and stroked the stallions neck. Jason looked back to Tiarni, "Have you live here your whole life?" he asked. He glanced around and saw the stables up a head.

Storm held his head high enough for Jason to put his halter on. He snorted and side stepped closer to Tropic. The stallion brushed his nose gently against her shoulder.

Tiarni nodded in understanding, it must of been hard, not actually having a home. She sighed and noticed him asking her a question, "No, not all my life. I used to live in Australia but we moved here because of the quality of the stables and.. I suppose we needed a change," The girl explained, keeping her eyes on the stables, but they occasionally lingered to her mare's mane.

Tropic felt Storm's muzzle against her shoulder and nickered softly, swishing her tail, she liked a little attention from other horses. She waited until he moved his muzzle and gently leaned over and nudged his cheek.

Jason glanced at his horse "Storm, please be good," he muttered and tightened the rope that was attached to the stallions halter. He made Storm step away again. He glanced at Tiarni apologetically. "Change is good sometimes, it gets annoying when you keep changing," he smiled and sighed. He couldn't keep up with how many times he had moved.

Storm flicked his tail in annoyance as he got made to move. The stallion reached out and nipped the mares neck gently.

Tiarni shrugged, "I guess," She sighed, they were almost at the stables now. "How long are you staying here for?" The girl asked out of curiosity. She glanced around, watching Jason try to control his horse, she chuckled. Tiarni gently stroked her mare's shoulder, glancing at Jason thoughtfully, wondering if he liked moving around so much.

Tropic snickered quietly and smirked, nipping his muzzle as he reached out to nip her neck. She whinnied playfully and shook her mane.

Jason rolled his eyes at Storm and let him play. "Hopefully long enough to get-" he stopped himself. What was he going to say? To get to know her? He couldn't. He looked away and sighed. Every time he got to know someone, he moved. The boy released the rope and placed his hands on his horses shoulders. "Do you like it here?" he asked, trying to keep talking to her.

Storm nickered excitedly at the mare and licked her cheek.

Tiarni listened to his break the sentence and change subject, she was about to ask him what he was going to say when Tropic jerked herself towards Storm and reared playfully, "Whoa!" She soothed, stroking her mare's neck, they seemed to get along okay. The girl tugged her mane gently and glanced up at Jason, "Sorry," Tiarni murmured apologetically, then noticed his other question, "Yeah, I do. Its really cool because we can take our horses to the beach and go on group beach rides with others. Also, most of the people here are really nice."

Tropic snorted at Tiarni as she reined her in and flicked her tail with irritation.

Jason felt the stallion move under him and nearly slid off. He leaned forward and gripped the rope "Whoa boy," he muttered and tightened the rope. He could tell Storm wanted to rear back. The boy glanced at Tiarni and smiled "It's okay," he muttered and listened to her talk. "Yeah well you are the first person I've talked to," he told her and glanced at his horse.

Storm raised his head as Jason tightened the reins. He pulled against the reins and sighed.

Tiarni watched Jason control his horse and smiled slightly, "Okay, fair enough. How long have you been here? This is the first day I've seen you here," She admitted, slowing her mare as they reached the stable entrance. The girl fluidly dismounted and lead Tropic over to a ring on the fence and tied her to it, walking into the barn and grabbing her grooming kit, then walked back out and started brushing her sandy coat gently. She then picked her hooves and combed her mane gently.

Tropic relaxed and sighed quietly as Tiarni groomed her, that felt good.

Jason halted his horse and dismounted near Tiarni, "This is my first day at the stable but I've been in this area about a week," he told her. He watched the girl quietly and gave Storm a pat. He wasn't sure what to do right now. The boy took off the stallions halter and smiled slightly. He ran his hands over the stallions back and down his legs, checking that he was fine from the beach. They hadn't really been riding on a beach before, this was all new. "So are you normally down here a lot?" he asked curiously.

Storm stood patiently as his owner checked him over. He watched Tropic curiously and snorted. Pawing at the ground softly, he nudged Jason towards the girl and her mare.

Tiarni grabbed a t-shirt and pulled it over her bikini top and continud grooming Tropic, watching Jason out the corner of her eye curiously. He seemed okay. She turned her attention to him as he spoke, "Okay, and yes, I try to spend as much time as I can down here. Its relaxing. Especially at the beach since on really hot days the stables are really hot and most of the people are at the beach anyway or in the forest trails," The girl explained, chucking the brush back into the box and dusted the sand from her hands. She glanced around at all the other riders heading down to the beach with their horses. They were the only ones here.

Tropic sighed and rested her hind hoof relaxingly as she watched the riders and horses retreat down to the beach.

Jason leaned against his horses chest, placing his hand on Storm's muzzle. He watched Tiarni for a while and then looked away. "Is this what everyone normally does down here, hang out at the beach?" he asked. Maybe there was other things to do. He felt Storm push him towards the girl and turned towards his horse. "Stop it boy," he whispered. Jason turned his attention back to Tiarni.

Storm shook his head and snorted, bored.

Tiarni shrugged, "No, but on hot days thats what most people do. Some also go on trail rides to the creek or through the caves. Some even hang out in the hay lofts," She chuckled, stroking her neck gently. The girl untied her mare's lead rope from the ring and held it while Tropic nuzzled her hair, "So, what do you want to do? We can go for a trail ride, go back to the beach, hang out at the stables.." She trailed off, maybe he didn't want to hang out with her. He could've wanted to go home.

Tropic pricked her ears and nickered to Storm, leaning over and nudging his back gently with a playful flick of her tail.

Jason shrugged, "Anything with you will be good," he smiled and then realised what he had said. He turned away to look at Storm and chuckled to himself. He turned back towards her and smiled slightly. That was so stupid to say but he did want to spend time with her.

Storm nickered and pawed the ground, arching his neck. He stepped closer to Tropic and nuzzled her shoulder.

Tiarni blushed a little at his comment and chewed on her lip, "Um. There is a store in the next street. Its about 5 minutes from here. We could go and buy some things and come back and hang out in the hay loft because there is normally a good breeze up there. I have some spare money. We can ride our horses or walk," She suggested, digging her hand into her pocket and pulled out $8.00
